Flag Football Roster Template

What's in the template

One row per player, with columns chosen so you collect everything at registration instead of chasing it mid-season:

• Jersey number — required by most leagues and fixed for the season.
• Name and date of birth — full name as on ID (leagues verify rosters), plus DOB for age divisions.
• Gender — matters in mixed divisions, where extra women can expand your roster.
• Offense and defense positions — the basis of your depth chart, since in competitive 5v5 the two units are usually different players.
• Phone, email, and emergency contact — for availability polls and the day you hope never comes.
• Registration / waiver status — so you know at a glance who's cleared to play.
• Notes — conflicts, injuries, two-way flags.

The Excel version includes dropdowns for gender and registration status and a frozen header row. Two example rows show the format — just delete them and start typing.

How to use it well

A roster is a routine, not a one-time document. Keep this sheet as your single source of truth, update availability every week before games, and archive players rather than deleting them so you keep their history.
